‘Tis the Season

Well it’s that time of year again! It seems that every night brings another gathering of festive cheer to celebrate the holidays. It’s exhausting, yes, but it is a great chance to catch up with people you don’t see on a regular basis. This past weekend consisted of two parties on opposite ends of the fancy spectrum, but equally as enjoyable.

Saturday entailed a lovely party at a residence in Henderson that is a staple in the Holiday Party Circuit and always puts you in the Christmas spirit. The decorations were dazzling, the drinks flowed all night and the entertainment was superb. Food was prepared by Chef Kim Canteenwalla of Blau & Associates. (Their restaurants Honey Salt and Andiron are two of my favorites in Las Vegas and Buddy V’s at the Venetian has a great brunch!) The whiskey cider specialty drinks were nothing short of adorable and the dessert bar definitely added a few inches to my waistline. The two highlights of the evening included a performance by dancing Santa clad beauties and the much anticipated “Santa Photo.” Much like children at your local mall, most willingly waited in a long line for the wonderful joy of getting a photo with santa, that was printed out and given in a frame as a party favor. It was a wonderful night full of festivity and a fashion lovers people watching dream.

The second party of the weekend took place at a home located in Rancho Nevada, my favorite neighborhood in Las Vegas. The neighborhood is full of ranch style homes that just put you in a great holiday celebration mood. The homemade food and display were divine and truly tasty! Pinterest lovers would be proud! What made the party even more lovely was the people. It’s always nice to be able to have real conversations instead of the typical forced small talk. It was so nice to see familiar faces and meet new ones. And when your cousin unexpectedly walks through the door you know that Las Vegas, is in fact, a very small town at heart. It was such a lovely way to wind down the weekend an put you in a festive and heartwarming mood.

So Cheers to the hostesses that made a holiday weekend that dreams are made of!

Now I’m off to sleep and hydrate until the next round!
